The ever-changing dynamic of kinesiology departments and the growth in specific exercise science fields has seen a shift to the inclusion of students in traditional adapted physical education courses who are preparing to go into athletic training, sports administration, health and fitness, physical/occupational therapy, physical/adapted physical education, and strength and conditioning. Movement in Special Populations: Fitness, Sport, and Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities is designed and written with the full spectrum of kinesiology in mind within each chapter. This guidebook prepares students to work with individuals with disabilities in various movement-related situations, including personal training, coaching, teaching, and therapy settings. This textbook was developed out of a need for a guide that covers not only physical education and adapted physical education, but also the spectrum of fields found in the field of kinesiology.
